IFPD Investigates Subway Robbery
IFPD Investigates Subway Robbery
The Idaho Falls Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a Subway store late Tuesday night.
The suspects are described as three unknown males. The first suspect was wearing a dark hoodie – possibly maroon or dark brown – with dark pants and dark boots. The second suspect was wearing a black hoodie with white shoulder markings and a red hood and white gloves with black stripes. The third suspect was wearing a black racing hoodie and royal blue gloves. All three suspects had their faces covered with bandanas.
According to reports, the three suspects, entered the store, located at 995 E. 17th St., just after 10:30 p.m. Two of the suspects had handguns. They confronted the lone male employee in the store and demanded cash from the store safe.
The employee retrieved cash from the safe and gave it to the robbers. He was then told to get into the freezer and remain there until the robbers exited the store. The suspects left through the back door.
Police issued a CodeRed alert to residents after they had a possible suspect run from them in the area near 12th Street and St. Clair Road around 1 a.m. The alert was canceled around 3 a.m. due to police believing the person was no longer in the area.
Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to contact the IFPD at 529-1200 or Crimestoppers at 522-1983. Please reference case #2017-8873.

Pocatello Police Chief Names Cpl. Kirk Howe Community Relations Officer
A 28-year veteran of law enforcement will be the Pocatello Police Department’s Community Relations Officer.
Recently, Chief Scott Marchand named Corporal Kirk Howe to the post. The position serves as a liaison to different groups in the Pocatello community with a focus on building partnerships with civic, educational, professional, and government organizations.
“Corporal Howe was selected because of his knowledge of the Police Department and its operation, as well as his knowledge and his involvement in the community over his lifetime,” said Chief Scott Marchand.
“I look forward to working with residents of all different backgrounds and finding out the ways that the Pocatello Police Department can help strengthen ties in our community,” Cpl. Howe said.
Previously, Cpl. Howe has served in the patrol and detective divisions in the department. In August, Howe was the recipient of two honors from the department. He received the Lifesaving Award and Law Enforcement Purple Heart for his part in apprehending a suspect in 2015.
If your organization would like to explore a partnership with the Pocatello Police Department or would like to have Cpl. Howe speak to your group, contact him at 208-234-6100 or via email at khowe@pocatello.us.
