Body of Missing Woman Recovered
Idaho Falls, ID – The body of a missing Idaho Falls woman has been recovered from a canal in Bingham County early this morning.
A canal worker found Patricia Dexter, 85, of Idaho Falls southwest of 97th South and 5th West just after 8 a.m.
Dexter, a resident at MorningStar Senior Living’s Independent Living Community, was reported missing on Sunday afternoon.
The following statement from MorningStar Senior Living has been issued:
“Our hearts are broken upon hearing the news early this morning of the loss of Patricia. Our deepest condolences are extended to her family, as we continue to lift prayers for their comfort and for the comfort of the many friends who loved her in this close‐knit community.”
The Idaho Falls Police Department extends our condolences to the family and friends of Dexter.
The IFPD expresses appreciation to the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office, the Bonneville County
Search and Rescue, the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office, the Bingham County Search and Rescue, the
Snake River Search and Air Idaho for their assistance in the search. The IFPD would also like to
recognize the efforts of staff and residents at MorningStar Senior Living who worked tirelessly to
find Dexter.
The IFPD also expresses appreciation to the community for their help and support.
The Bonneville County Coroner has not declared an official cause of death for Dexter.
