On June 3rd, 2016 just after 9pm Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to an address on Deloy Dr. to a report of a male and female fighting in their vehicle and driving recklessly, ultimately arriving at a residence where their altercation continued. As Deputies arrived they were able to detain 26 year old Tyson R. Cook that lived in an apartment there. Deputies were able to determine from witnesses and neighbors that Cook had been physically fighting with another adult female in his vehicle while driving all over the roadway, running a stop sign, and speeding. The witnesses advised that as Cook and the female arrived at their residence on Deloy Dr. the physical fight continued to their apartment resulting in Cook kicking in the door. The altercation continued out of the apartment and back out to the vehicle where a neighbor was able to help the female into their apartment and keep her away from Cook as Deputies were arriving on scene.
While being detained by Deputies on scene Cook fought with officers, kicking at them and attempting to get away. During this time a Deputy was struck in the knee by Cook causing injury and another experienced a minor hand injury in their attempt to gain control of Cook. While in route to the jail Cook offered money to the transporting Deputy to let him go and even after being turned down and advised it was against the law to bribe an officer he continued with an offer of more money to just let him go. Cook was then booked into the Bonneville County Jail on charges of Battery on Certain Personnel, Misdemeanor Domestic Battery, Malicious Injury to Property, Bribery of a Police Officer, Resisting and Obstructing, and Reckless Driving.
The female victim sustained minor injuries and the Deputy who sustained a knee injury was later checked at a medical facility.
