BOISE –Christopher “Farley” Woods, 58, of San Clemente, California, was sentenced yesterday to 10 years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute cocaine.  Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill also ordered Woods to serve five years of supervised release and ordered him to forfeit 1.4 million dollars in cash proceeds, his residence in Orange County , California, $77,400 in seized currency, and three million shares of stock.  Co-defendant Blake Allen Smith, 67, of Salt Lake City, Utah, was also sentenced yesterday to 44 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for conspiracy to distribute cocaine, U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson announced.  Woods pleaded guilty on February 18, 2016 and Smith pleaded guilty on March 7, 2016.

According to the plea agreements and court proceedings, Woods and Smith admitted that they conspired to distribute cocaine from 2008 to June 9, 2015.  At Wood’s sentencing, Judge Winmill heard testimony that Woods was the source of supply for dozens of kilograms of cocaine destined for Ketchum, Idaho.  In sentencing Woods to ten years imprisonment, Judge Winmill stated that he believed that the defendant was responsible for the distribution of significantly more than fifty kilograms of cocaine during the course of the conspiracy.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Marshals Service Asset Forfeiture Division, Blaine County Narcotics Enforcement Team, Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, and the Los Angeles Interagency Metropolitan Police Apprehension Crime Task Force.
